U.N. warns of huge increase in Syrian refugees

Thousands of Syrian refugees arrive at the south-central Turkish province Killis by car, microbus, motorcycle and even on foot.

But only a few dozen were able to cross through as of Tuesday morning.

This refugee said there are more than 2,000 people without food, water or shelter waiting to cross the border.

On Monday, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said the number of Syrian refuges in Turkey has nearly doubled over the past two months to more than 80,000.

In response, Turkish officials have been temporally holding thousands of people at the border while they scramble to erect shelters like this one.

On Tuesday the U.N.'s refugee agency warned the number of refugees coming here alone could soar to 200,000.
